Hey guys, I'm new with the whole photoshop thing, but I have CS3. So be easy on me!
I was just wondering.. how do i take someone from one picture and put them cleanly into another picture with other people to make it look like they were there? even if you could refer me to a good link or something that would be very helpful!! thanks guys and i appreciate any advice!

What you're asking is not a simple process, and to get really good results you have to be good with selections, masks, blend modes, adjustment layers and lighting adjustments.

There a ton of tutorials on the web, here are a few:

Try to figure all the options out yourself, you will learn faster this way, I made it this way and now I am quite good at it

the pen tool set to paths can cut the person out pretty cleanly, depending on how much time you want to spend on it, but practice makes perfect so take your time and read anything that ladynred says she's sent me to some really good tutorials.

I'm a big fan of using Quick Mask Mode. Works very well.

Check out this tutorial:

It will take you a lot of time ... the process is not easy as it was said ... the first thing you have to do is cut out the person from the first photo and that will be a little hard ... you can use different methods for this ... you can use the poligonal lasso for that but it will be a hard method ... when you actually do the cutting I suggest to use an about 1-2 pixels of feather ... it would help you on the cutting edges, they won`t be so visible ... but the other hard part for you it will be when you`re gonna be putting that person in the other photo as you will have to be careful with the shadows ... the shadows should be from the same angle for all the picture ... I would suggest you to give a search on the internet for some tutorials ... you can find lots of them and well explained ... but anyway ... you could have started with something easier ) ...
Anyway ... I wish you only good luck and when you manage to make it you can show us too ... we might be interested ...

Good luck!

I have found photoshop hard to learn as well but there are a lot of free e-books out there that are quite useful.

I say just play with it, read/watch a tutorial, play with it, read/watch a tutorial, play with it, read/watch a tutorial.....etc......

I've put in over 500 hours into ps cs and I feel like I'm just in the intermediate level. I learn something new every time I read about it.

Yeah, I've tried this myself. Usually I end up cropping someone finger off. So, I don't even worry about it. I just pay someone to do it if I need them too.
